Most households have a box in their attic or basement packed with old cell phones, tablets, computers, and other devices. Does this sound familiar? If so, you should consider recycling those old devices in a way that ensures responsible disposal of them. Here at Summit E-Waste, we are purposeful and responsible with old devices. We take all kinds of devices and the condition does not matter. It could be in perfect working condition or broken and falling apart! We take everything from cell phones to televisions and computers.
We didn’t forget about the business owners and the businesses they have built up! We offer special services to businesses where we come and pick up recyclable electronics and destroy any data that comes with them! We shred hard drives, flash drives, and other devices that hold meaningful data that you no longer need. Our data destruction methods are compliant and reliable!
Now back to that old box in your basement/attic! If it is in working condition and might be valuable to someone else in the community, we recommend selling or giving it away. If that is not the case, we will take it and look it over. Once we discover the conditions and status, we will do a few different things depending on what we discover. If it can be repurposed, we will do that by providing it to a community member. If it is not in working condition, we will take out any of the parts that can be reused and dispose of the bad parts in a safe and friendly way. If you bring us a gem, we will likely hang on to it for our personal collections! We display some of the cooler items we take in and have them out for our visitors to see and interact with.
Down the line, we hope to have schools and other youth organizations in our warehouse to educate them on how e-waste works and how we are working to make a difference, not only in our community, but the entire world!
The next time you go on a cleaning spree and stumble across that old box of devices, feel free to bring it to our warehouse and drop it off! We are located in Akron, Ohio at 53.0 Grant street. We are here Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2pm.
