We are Summit E-Cycle and we help the Akron residents and businesses to offload old electronics and recycle them in the correct ways! We aim to ultimately reduce the amount of waste going into the landfills that harm our environment. But how do we do this? The answer is actually a lot more simple than you may think. We either fix and repair devices to give them a second life or we break them down for parts so that they can be used to repair and fix other devices. At the end of the day, if we can keep electronics in circulation, we are successful.

The process of repairing a broken or damaged electronic can be intimidating for most. We have a team of professionals who are highly skilled when it comes to working with electronics of all kinds. Whether it be a bad battery, a cracked screen, or broken buttons, we have ways of identifying the issue and finding solutions paired with new pieces to get the device back up and running.

What devices do we take?

We take any electronic device you can think of. To name a few, we take computers, monitors, cell phones, tablets, laptops, printers, televisions, consoles, and much much more. IF you have it, chances are we have seen and worked with it before.

What we do with repair devices.

Depending on if the devices are by themselves or with other similar devices, we do a few things. We either sell it to a collector or someone looking for a specific device or we keep them all together and lease them in bulk to production teams who make your favorite television series and shows. We have connected with some awesome people in the electronic recycling community and it is always so great to connect a collector with the device they have been searching for. When we pick items up in bulk, it usually comes to form a business that is upgrading their equipment, offloading storage, or simply making room for new bigger, and better things. In this case, we will keep them all together and make sure they are all functioning properly before making them available to entertainment teams who need them.

What do we do with the broken devices?

When devices come through our doors with damaged or broken components, we first dive into them to figure out exactly what is going on. Once we have figured out what all is bad or broken, we determine if fixing it is worth it, if so we fix it. If we cannot fix it, or it isn’t worth it, we strip out all of the working p[arts and se4t them aside. Those parts are then kept for future devices that need them.

We are expanding our reach to the community and we want you to get involved! We have hosted a number of community electronic recycling days this year and plan to have more in the future. We also are in the process of placing electronic recycling drop-off bins around the city. These bins are designed to make things convenient for you!  Aside from that our business is always open to scheduling a drop-off where you don’t need to do any of the heavy liftings yourself! Call or email us today to get rid of those old electronics that are collecting dust in the attic or basement!
