Since we started our electronic recycling journey, we have had a few people ask us “is recycling electronics actually eco-friendly?”. Well, we are here to answer the question and put the rumors to rest!
First things first, if you throw away your old electronics they are going to sit in a landfill When an electronic device sits in a landfill, it does nothing. When we get ahold of a device, we re-use every possible piece from the device possible! IOf the device is in working condition, we clean it up and find it a new home. If it is broken or not working, we disassemble the device and share all of the working components with people working on projects of their own. They may be collecting it, repair their device, or simply creating something new with it. At the end of the day, we do not let anything in working condition go to waste, and if it is broken we find ways to use it or share it with others.
Back to the question at hand, yes recycling electronics is eco-friendly for the sole reason it keeps things out of landfills. We are not going to dive into the discussion of global warming or greenhouse gases, but we are doing our part to preserve the planet.

For all northeast Ohio residents, we have two methods for discarding unwanted electronics! You can call in and talk with us to schedule a drop-off at our warehouse in Akron or drop it off at our next FREE electronic recycling event!
For businesses and business owners, we know things might not be as simple and straightforward. Thus we have some special services that you can utilize! If you have devices with private information, we will come out to you and shred the storage drives on-site and give you a printed document to show secured data destruction. We also offer pick-up and take-away of items that you need to clear out to make space for new devices!
